So perfect! Exactly what we were looking for. It works just like the dongle that comes with the Splatoon headset.
This was a Christmas gift for a 10 yr. old and a 13 year old. They are cousins that live in different states. They love that they can play their Switch and talk to each other while playing.
Did exactly what I wanted. Needed an aux cord splitter so I could listen to Spotify on my phone while playing Stardew on the Switch. This does that splendidly. Havent tried to use any voicechating apps or anything but didnt really buy it for that. Sound quality sounds the same as it is when im not using the adapter. Volume adjustments with using the basic volume up/down buttons on phone and Switch works just fine. I can even pause my music with the built in button from my cheap wired earbuds when it runs through the adapter. Cords not very long, maybe 6-10 inches long, but long enough to not be an issue carrying both phone and switch on the Subway.

The Nintendo Switch doesn't allow one to plug in gaming headphones and play with online friends.

Great little converter. I use it for audio between my computer and switch. It automatically reduces the audio of the switch when pc audio comes on which I love.
