These definitely help with not destroying my switch cons by not squeezing them hard. My wife and I love them!
Bought to use with my Nintendo Switch fitness boxing games. Works as described.
I'm using them for Fitness Boxing: Fist of the North Star. They are holding up really well. Although you need to make sure you match the + with the +, and the - with the - when attaching them to your Joy cons. I hope to get another pair soon once I get another set of Joy cons.
If you are going to box/fight/work out by punching things, this is the way. The extra width added here is perfect for making a fist, it never feels like I am going to drop the controller. I love the brass knuckle design, and the finger grooves are comfortable. After several thousand punches I have no complaints.
These are pretty decent grips. I play Fitness Boxing 3 on the original Nintendo Switch. The main reason I started a search for something like this was mainly due to the sweat on my hands coating the joycons. I was worried about ingress into the rail portion because there are buttons on top of that, and did not want that to lead to failure of the joycon.
I was originally looking for some sort of glove attachment that would allow me to slip the joycon in an elastic pocket but on the back of the hand. No such product seems to exist unfortunately. I am actually trying to work on my own but in the meantime I needed something and these seemed like they would work for my needs.
The grips slide on to the rails and cover the buttons on the rail, which works for protecting them against sweat. There is an audible clicking in to place for myself. I've read enough of these reviews that I was worried these fit on loosely, but that was not the case for me at all. My only suggestion is to make sure that you are lining up the "+" and "-" signs to the correct joycon, i haven't attempted to put them on backwards yet.
I don't use the lanyards, I never have. I owned FB2 as well, and never used them there either. I've seen the reviews complaning of them flopping around and I would just suggest to not use them (if you're an adult). I guess if you purchased these for children then it's nice to have them in that case.
There is a little slit that I guess potentially helps with air flow to a small degree. You could also probably hold the outside rail and punch in that manner if you had excessive sweating. For myself it's just a normal amount, but still enough to cause concern. You get out of this game what you put in, and I punch with enough effort to cause sweaty palms.
I can burn about 750 calories in about 45 minutes with this game, the in game calorie estimator and my Fitbit estimate almost the same amount of calories. Sometimes being spot on, and sometimes being off by about 20-40 calories between eachother, but I know that I'm getting some serious work done either way.
